Give yourself permission to eat cake!

Treating others is easy, buy how often do we treat ourselves?  Or to be more specific, how often do we let ourselves indulge in a food treat?

 Treats like cakes, biscuits, bread, chocolate or cream can trigger strong feelings of guilt in some of us. Some abstain completely, others feel guilty even with the occasional treat.  

Many of you trying to keep to a diet might feel

“I have failed”                         ”I shouldn’t have done that!”                        ”Why I am so stupid?”

Unfortunately, this can often lead to the ‘point of no return’ where we lose complete control and end up overeating or even bingeing on these ‘forbidden fruits’.  So how do we get out of this cycle of cravings?

 

There is one approach, which would help you not to beat yourself up and that is the 80/20 rule.

80% of your daily diet should consist of consciously chosen healthy ingredients and – this is the important bit - up to 20% can be treats! Every day!

 

And no quibbles over this 20%!

Give yourself full blown permission! No terms and conditions attached! You don’t have to be perfect all the time!
